Megaton Musashi changes course and will be offered in free-to-play this fall

After five years of development, the release of Megaton Musashi was a real disappointment for Level-5. At least, we imagine it, because the title did not even appear in the Top 10 of the best sales during its first week of marketing in Japan. And this despite a release on Switch and on PS4, the two platforms of the moment best installed in the homes of the Archipelago.

However, Level-5 has not said its last word and therefore hopes to offer a new start to its title with the release this fall of Megaton Musashi Xa version free-to-play compatible with backups of Megaton Musashi. This reissue of the game will feature all six updates deployed on the original game and will introduce the second chapter of the story, but also an online versus world, as well as new mechas, weapons and levels.

Among the new metal giants that will accompany the release of Megaton Musashi X this fall, let’s mention in particular Getter Robo and Mazinger Z, two headliners likely to make a great promotion of the title to the Japanese public. Model free-to-play requires, we imagine that Level-5 still has some prestigious guests in reserve to be monetized in the coming months.
