fun, news, tips… what else?

Returning to the United Kingdom for the jubilee of Elizabeth II, prince Harry and Meghan Markle were able to speak with the queen, in particular to introduce her to their daughter, Lilibet. But this meeting was far from resembling what they imagined.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are unlikely to forget their last visit to the Windsors. Two years after leaving the UK to strike out on their own, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their return to the UK on the occasion of Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. Personally invited by the Queen, they made a discreet appearance, but no less noticed and commented on afterwards, at the solemn mass which took place in Saint Paul’s Cathedral. They then slipped away to join their home of Frogmore Cottage, skipping a banquet given in honor of the sovereign with the rest of the royal family. Leaving before the end of the festivities of this jubilee, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, however, had the long-awaited opportunity to present their daughter Lilibet to her great-grandmother. However, the scenario of this meeting would not have gone as they hoped.

The tabloid The Sun indeed reports that their interview only lastedabout fifteen minutesand was made under the yoke of royal protocol. “It was a quick meeting and could not be more formal, assured a source, who does not, however, specify the reaction of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to this total lack of freedom to talk longer with Elizabeth II. It must be said that during these four days of jubilee, the queen had a busy schedule, so much so that, because of fatigue, she had to give up participating in several events, such as the concert organized in front of Buckingham Palace, then the big parade to close the festivities.

William and Harry still cold

If the reunion with Elizabeth II was brief, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who had already paid him a discreet visit before the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, had the chance to present Lilibet to the one who inspired them the name of the little girl, Lilibet being the tender nickname that Prince Philip gave to his wife. Now back in California, where they reside, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not have lingered in the United Kingdom where they have been snubbed by several members of the royal family. So much so that this did not fail to rekindle the rumors of tension between them and Prince William and Kate Middleton who, for their part, would not have met their little niece.
