Meghan Trainor's birthday just before Christmas. In an interview, the pregnant singer reveals how she spends Christmas.

Meghan Trainor ("A Very Trainor Christmas") celebrates her 27th birthday on December 22nd. As a real "Christmas baby", the American, who will be a mother for the first time in 2021, has "always particularly loved" the festival of love. In an interview with the news agency spot on news, she talks about her holiday plans in the year of the corona pandemic, explains why she and her family do "nothing more" on New Year's Eve, and what she is looking forward to most in the new year.

Ms. Trainor, will Christmas be different for you in the Corona year?

Meghan Trainor: Yes, a little. I have two cousins who I usually fly in every year. But I don't think it's safe enough at the moment – for them and for us. So I told them beforehand that it wouldn't work and they understand that. Another difference is my size. I'm heavily pregnant and will probably lie around a lot and eat whatever I can see.

And otherwise?

Trainor: Otherwise it's like every year – with the difference that every family member has to be tested before he or she comes to my house. I don't understand jokes and don't take any risks. But we will still celebrate, have a good time and eat a lot.

What are you and your family planning for New Year's Eve?

Trainor: We celebrate so much over Christmas that we don't do anything on New Year's Eve.

Really nothing?

Trainor: Yeah. Even before the corona pandemic, we were never the kind of guy who said, "Okay, let's go and party." I'm ready to stay home and never want to go out again, especially since the pandemic started. So on New Year's Eve we'll probably just sit in front of the TV. We are together as a family, have dinner and watch films together.

Are you looking forward to the new year?

Trainor: I can't wait for 2021 because I'm finally going to have a baby! And I really want to take care of my body after squeezing this kid out.

That sounds a lot like a good resolution.

Trainor: It is. I'm looking forward to going back to saunas and the like, because it's good for my body. I'm currently doing sports, but you can't sit in the sauna while pregnant. It's not good for the child. There are certain things you can't do, like going to the jacuzzi. You have to stay away from the heat. I also found out about a method of changing from a hot sauna to really cold temperatures. This is apparently good for the body and healthy. I try to learn new tricks to give my body the healthiest regeneration after giving birth.

Is that your focus for 2021?

Trainor: Yeah. For me, 2021 will be all about my health and my baby.
