Because of a Covid illness, Mel Gibson had to spend a week in the hospital. Now he explains how he experienced the infection.

It has been almost a year since Mel Gibson (65, "Braveheart") contracted Covid-19. Now he is talking about his infection with the corona virus at the time. He is doing quite well today, he explains to the US entertainment program "Extra" and jokes that he can "still go to the toilet by himself". The Covid disease was still strange: "It doesn't feel natural at all. It doesn't feel like anything else you've ever had." He felt pretty "lousy" for a while, but never had to be ventilated.

A spokesman for the Hollywood star told the US magazine "People" last summer that Gibson had tested positive in April 2020. Accordingly, the actor was treated with the drug remdesivir and had to spend a week in the hospital. Gibson later tested negative for the virus and positive for antibodies several times.
