While Donald Trump is still fighting against the election result, his wife Melania "just wants to go home" according to a US media report.

Her husband Donald Trump (74) still does not want to accept his defeat in the US presidential election, but Melania Trump (50) has apparently resigned. "She just wants to go home," CNN quotes an unnamed source from around the first lady.

According to the report, a few days after the election results were announced, Melania Trump discreetly asked an advisor for a list of what she would have at her disposal in terms of budget and post-White House staffing. In addition, she is said to have already made an inventory and decided on some items that are either to be stored, sent to the New York penthouse or to the Mar-a-Lago property in Florida. In the latter, the Trumps want to settle in the future, son Barron (14) should go to school in the state.

For the move, she is said to have already completed one of the last tasks that most first ladies perform before leaving office: They choose a set of china that they leave behind for the next presidential couple. In addition, Melania Trump is said to have already thought about her "legacy" as First Lady and are in talks with publishers about the publication of a book. She wants to leave the White House behind for good. She doesn't seem to think much of her husband's re-running in the 2024 presidential election. "That would not go well," she is said to have told the insider.
