Melania Trump: She cancels campaign appearance because of persistent cough

Persistent cough: Melania Trump has canceled an election campaign appearance with husband Donald Trump.

Melania Trump (50) has canceled a planned campaign appearance with her husband, US President Donald Trump (74). On Tuesday evening, she was supposed to support her husband in the race for the US presidency in Erie in the embattled state of Pennsylvania. "She's feeling better every day after her recovery from Covid-19, but with a persistent cough and as a precaution, she won't travel," said Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's chief of staff, in a statement according to CNN.

Most recently, the First Lady showed her support for her husband with a speech in the Rose Garden of the White House at the Republican Congress on August 25. In her speech, she praised her husband as "an authentic person who loves this country."

Son Barron was also sick with Covid-19

In mid-October, Melania Trump spoke about her Covid 19 disease in a post on the official White House website. Accordingly, she had only very mild symptoms. "But they all hit me at once and in the days after that it felt like a roller coaster ride on symptoms. I had body aches, coughs and headaches and felt extremely tired most of the time." She opted for natural treatment and, above all, consumed a lot of vitamins and healthy food. In addition to husband Donald Trump, son Barron (14) was also infected with the virus, but according to Melania Trump, he did not experience any symptoms.

After surviving the corona infection, Donald Trump went back to the election campaign and made numerous appearances in the countdown of the upcoming US election on November 3rd. His opponent is the Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden (77).
