She had to cancel participation in this year’s European Football Championship for Women, but this decision did not spoil her happiness: Melanie Leupolz has become a mother. On Instagram, the footballer gives an insight into her new full-time job with a first photo.
Her pregnancy was the reason for her cancellation at this year’s Women’s European Championship. Chelsea star Melanie Leupolz, 28, is now announcing the birth of his baby on Instagram.

Regarding a photo showing the athlete with a pram, the club writes on the official Instagram account of the English first division club Chelsea FC Women: “Our latest ‘Blue’ (Note d. Red.: Nickname of Chelsea) has arrived…”. The new mom also shares the post on her Instagram channel. The happy message is met with great enthusiasm by fans and friends. Numerous congratulations and hearts can be found among the posts within a short period of time.

On March 7, 2022, Chelsea announced in an official statement that the German international was pregnant – the end of the European Championship. The German team finished second without them. For Melanie Leupolz, however, one thing is clear: she wants to get back on the pitch as soon as possible, provided the conditions are right.
“Of course I want to be back on the pitch as soon as possible, but only healthy. There’s no point in pushing. You have to see how things are going with the child and adjust your sleeping and breastfeeding times. There are so many factors which cannot be foreseen. I don’t feel any pressure to have to come back quickly. The most important thing is the family and our child,” Leupolz told “t-online”.
