Sixteen days before the first round of the presidential election, taking advantage of his recent polling dynamics, the candidate of La France insoumise (LFI) has undoubtedly established himself as the only left-wing candidate able to qualify for the second round. But the hope of this qualification should not hide the absolutely fundamental programmatic differences that remain between the left described as populist, embodied by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, and the so-called “government” left, for a time represented by the Socialist Party (PS).
