Jochen Bendel and Melissa Khalaj present the late night show on “Celebrities under palm trees”. They do the candidate check in the interview.

Reality show fans will get their money’s worth again from April 12th: Then the second season “Promis unter Plamen” will start (from 8:15 pm on Sat.1). Melissa Khalaj (31) and Jochen Bendel (53) review the events of the respective episodes in the following live broadcast “Celebrities under palm trees – the Late Night Show” – including the celebrity guest who will provide additional explosive (“Celebrities under palm trees – the Late Night Show “, from April 12th, 10:05 pm on Sat.1, from April 19, 2021 on sixx).

In an interview with the news agency spot on news, the two reality TV experts do the big candidate check. Who will get along well under the Thai sun, where will it boil and who will make it to victory?

What did you think when you first looked at the candidate list?

Jochen Bendel: Honestly? I thought: “Wow, lots of old friends there” and what a top-class line-up.

Melissa Khalaj: The usual suspects all had time and needed the money (laughs). The viewers are happy about the drama and want to cheer. This is definitely guaranteed with these celebrities.

Which candidate has the most bitch potential?

Bendel: This year I am very concerned about impulse control in all women.

Who has the greatest chance of winning and why?

Bendel: What sets “PUP” apart from all other reality shows: You can’t predict who will take the trophy home with them at the end. Because the celebrities make it up among themselves. So: everyone has the same opportunities.

Khalaj: The one who is most adept at the games, is emphatic and tries to avoid arguments, maybe? That would be a tip from me … but what do I know ?! (laughs)

All participants have experience of reality TV. Which appearance do you remember most positively / negatively from the past?

Bendel: Reality experience is the principle of “PUP”. The participants are therefore washed with all waters. Old bills are also settled there. For me personally it is the case that after each season I reboot my hard drive in my brain, because I don’t want to drag around all the dramas and scenes with me. So every time I’m open-minded, open and curious about what’s going to happen.

Willi Herren has almost every reality TV show behind him. Is it a guarantee for entertainment?

Bendel: Willi is a reality fossil. He is a guarantee for top entertainment because his curiosity always keeps the conversations and stories going. He’s a puller and very, very ambitious.

Marcus Prinz von Anhalt has not appeared on reality TV for a long time. What do you expect from his performance?

Bendel: That’s right, I haven’t heard for a long time. I thought he had to take great care of his monkey babies and therefore had nowhere to perform. I think he’s the only reality star who does something real on the side – or rather, lets work for him. Well, this time he has to deliver himself.

Patricia Blanco is also there as a TV veteran. How can she enrich the show?

Bendel: Patricia is an asset to any show. She is quickly the mum of the group and puts her own needs on the back burner. She has often shed many tears in previous shows, but today she is happily in steady hands and her cosmetic surgery dramas are forgotten too.

Emmy Russ and Katy Bähm celebrate “Celebrity Big Brother” reunion. Good or Bad Omen?

Bendel: Definitely a good one. Emmy and Katy had reconciled with “PBB” in the end. Well, they both have a very short fuse. The peace treaty could therefore fly around their ears again at any time.

Emmy Russ and Henrik Stoltenberg are the youngest in the field. Do you even have a chance to assert yourself against the “old hands” like Willi Herren or Giulia Siegel?

Bendel: That is the question! Of course, the old hands don’t let the greenhorns take the butter off their bread. This is generally a kind of generation problem in showbiz: with the elderly, every provocation is carefully considered and prepared, with the young, provocation is simply a reason for being. Rather, the question will be whether young and old can communicate with one another at all. Emmy Russ and Henrik Stoltenberg are known for their eloquence and polished choice of words.

Khalaj: Both want the crown, both are great attention seekers. If it’s not about them, both of them can get nasty quickly. Nevertheless, both have a large fan base – and rightly so. I am curious whether they will love or hate each other.

The two, like Elena Miras, first became known through reality TV. What do you think of Miras’ career path and what do you expect from her in “Celebs under the Palm Trees”?

Bendel: Hardly any other reality star has polarized as much in recent years as Elena Miras. And only through her powerful language – you have to do it first. Even Désirée Nick – the mother of the polished word – drops the teacup in her Waldschlösschen in anger. With “IBES” Elena disappointed her fans. But she can make up for that in Thailand now.

Khalaj: As you know, Elena doesn’t mince her words and is not afraid of confrontation. With the candidate constellation, Ms. Miras can certainly quickly get dark and loud under palm trees and sunshine.

It is said to have crashed under the palm trees between Töpperwien and Müller. What do you think of this constellation?

Bendel: Melanie Müller doesn’t let anyone take the butter off her bread so easily without resistance. And not the currywurst twice.
