We often spend what feels like hours looking for the perfect outfit – not to mention the time we invest in our make-up. Then a few brush strokes here and a few squirts of perfume there – the look is complete! The latter in particular usually happens automatically, although it’s worth giving some thought to the topic of fragrance – especially if you’re still single and looking for Mister Right. A private study of ‘scentbird‘ has provided some exciting insights.
We all know the saying about being able to “smell someone good”. And we should now take that literally. As the survey showed, men not only pay attention to the appearance of their counterpart on a date, but above all to their smell – and that quite intuitively. So, can the choice of our perfume help our crush to be attracted to us? The unequivocal answer: Yes!
according to dr Winnifred Cutler, who discovered the existence of human pheromones in the 1980s, the scent of humans is crucial when it comes to the subject of affection. “Essential Oils and blends can create a delightful scent that increases our attraction,” the lead scientist told Scentbird.
In the online retailer’s study, around 93 percent of the men surveyed confirmed that they felt attracted to a woman who wore perfume. 66 percent also said that a woman who smells nice is sexier than one who is well dressed.
Which fragrance do men like best?
But which scent is it that attracts men magically? According to the survey, it is mainly floral scents, which men immediately smell positively, followed by spicy and fresh nuances. And what about the ladies of creation? 94 percent of us also appreciate a man who smells good – especially when he uses fresh or woody perfumes.
Despite all our love for fragrances, we should never forget one thing: the character is much more important than the outfit, the make-up or the fragrance. Because in the end it’s your great personality that decides whether the first date will be followed by a second…
