"American Pie" star Mena Suvari (41) is looking forward to her first child. Together with her husband Michael Hope she is expecting a boy in the spring, as she has now revealed to the American "People" magazine. Although the couple, who married in 2018, have been actively dealing with their desire to have children since the beginning of 2020, the pregnancy is still a surprise.

"I took my temperature every morning and peed on those ovulation sticks," Suvari said. But one disappointment followed the next and the actress felt increasing stress and pressure. Finally, she made a decision. "I tried to convince myself that if it should happen, it will happen," she recalled.
In mid-July, the actress traveled to Georgia to film – and it happened. "At first I thought I was jet lagged because I'm very sensitive," said Suvari. But there were "some other symptoms" added "and I decided to do a test". Today the 41-year-old speaks of an "absolute miracle".
