As every year, after consulting the High Authority for Health, the ministry unveils the new vaccination schedule. This 2022 edition has some new features in store, particularly for the vaccination of children. But some adults are also affected. First for children, the list of eleven mandatory vaccines does not change, but that of recommended vaccines is growing. Vaccination against meningococcal B, which was reserved only for certain populations at risk, is now recommended for infants from the age of three months.

Pertussis vaccine recommended for pregnant women

For the pertussis vaccine, the High Authority for Health recommends that mothers receive a dose from six months of pregnancy and at birth. The baby will thus be protected. This decision was taken because of the epidemiological context. In France, 90% of pertussis deaths occur in the first six months of life.

Nurses and pharmacists can vaccinate adults

For adults, vaccination against seasonal influenza is now recommended for professionals exposed to porcine and avian viruses. This is to prevent the transmission of human viruses to animals. Finally, for the past few months, nurses and pharmacists have been able to vaccinate anyone of legal age for certain vaccines.
