Mercato LoL: a first important start at Top Esports in LPL

While the mercato is well launched in LCK and LCS, and even almost finished on the LEC side, the LPL is quietly starting its market for the new 2023 season of League of Legends. In China, Top Esports has just announced its first start on the organization’s weibo account. The team mid laner, Zhuo “Knight” Ding will not be lined up for the resumption next season in the LPL.

Arrived at TES for the 2019 season from Suning, the 22-year-old Chinese competitor therefore performed 4 seasons with his team, often considered one of the best midlaners in his country. During the season, he reached new records by being the 10th player in the league to exceed 2,000 kills in the LPL. After two interesting splits, which ended in two finals in the playoffs, TES unfortunately did not perform a miracle at the Worlds, eliminated in group C by the future world champion DRX.

After full and friendly communication between the club and the players, we hereby announce that knight has become a free agent and is officially leaving the team. We spent four years together, weathering the wind and rain, catching the silver dragon and climbing to the top. May you, as always, ride the wind and the waves and be energetic. We look forward to seeing you at the top of the arena.

On his track record, knight has obtained several Demacia Cup and LPL titles, and numerous finals. He obviously also has a semi-final at Worlds in 2020 with Top Esports. Despite this departure, TES still has a half a dozen players in its titular roster, even if a good half have yet to renew their contract, such as Tian or JackeyLove.
