Mercato LoL: Astralis unveils its 2023 roster, with its new jungler 113

Roster announcements follow one another on the League of Legends stage, and in LEC almost all the compositions have been known for a few days, only the formalizations are missing. Thus, without much surprise in its training, Astralis therefore gave the names of its five starting players for the 2023 season, after a catastrophic year and long discussions to find out if the structure continued in the European championship for one more season. In addition to reconstruction, the Scandinavian team has therefore renewed part of its workforce.

As announced during the first rumors before the start of the transfer window, the former Turkish jungler of Karmine Corp, 113, got his place in the deep end. The player is announced instead of Xerxewhile the toplane will be taken by the Swede finnformer player of Excel or Rogue, team with which he had participated in the Worlds 2020.

With the addition of 113 and Finn, we feel like we have a very interesting mix of pure craftsmanship, experience and a huge amount of talent. We firmly believe that these two players will be central to our continued progress after the last split, despite not qualifying for the playoffs. We are not that far from qualifying and our objective is clearly to go very far in the coming season.

I have a feeling that the LEC format change is a very interesting challenge and will probably give fans new excitement. We don’t change our goals because of the format changes and we want to fight for a place in the playoffs.

– Kasper Hvidt, Astralis Sporting Director

Astralis have finished in the bottom two places in three of the last four LEC splits and will need to do better this year if they don’t sink to the bottom of the tableau. For this, the structure also announces changes on the side of the leaders with the arrival of Jonas ‘vandett0’ Toth Jensen as an assistant coach from the academy. Rebecca Cantarella of EXCEL becomes the new team manager, and F1RE is appointed analyst. Finally AoD is confirmed as head coach while Kobbe extended his contract for another year.
