Retired since the end of 2020, Doublelift could return as a professional player next year. He would be in discussion with several North American structures.

He is probably one of North America’s most iconic players, Yiliang “Peter” “Doublelift” Peng is currently retired and has been living a life as a streamer for two years. The American player had decided to end his career at the end of a complicated 2020 at TSM and ended with a 0-6 at the Worlds. If it was thought that the player was done with the life of a professional player, it would seem that this is not completely the case.

Indeed, according to LEC_Wooloo, Doublelift is currently in discussion with several North American structures to return to competition. The most successful player in North America could therefore find a place in the LCS next year. However, at the moment nothing has been signed and no agreement has been reached. This story is not surprising since the main interested party had declared last March to be interested in a return to competition.

To see therefore the continuation of this potential return of Doublelift which would be enormously followed by the whole community and which could bring back some NA fans, who are increasingly moving away from the League of Legends scene. This possible return could suggest that of Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg last year, and which has not been really conclusive for the moment.
