(CercleFinance.com) – Mercialys on Friday unveiled a series of energy sobriety measures aimed at achieving the government’s 10% reduction in energy consumption.
The French property company, which specializes in the management of shopping centres, has notably decided to lower its heating and air conditioning trigger thresholds, which will drop to 17°C in winter and 26°C in summer.
The group also intends to have only limited use of heating at night, at a level that simply allows the installations to be kept frost-free.
Finally, it will switch off the general lighting and the signs one hour after the closing of the last store, while adjusting the airflows of the ventilation systems in its premises.
Faced with soaring electricity prices and the risk of not having enough energy this winter, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, the sector giant, announced last month the implementation of sobriety measures energy within its shopping centres.
Earlier in the week, it was the number one luxury goods company, LVMH, which presented initiatives intended to reduce its energy consumption by, among other things, switching off the night lighting in its stores.
