Mersen: a new factory in South Korea


(CercleFinance.com) – Mersen announces the inauguration of its new plant located in Cheonan, South Korea. This site will enable Mersen to meet the rapidly growing needs of the semiconductor market.

The new facilities will allow Mersen to double its production capacity in South Korea. The new site, with a surface area of ​​23,000 m2, specializes in the design and manufacture of monocrystalline silicon drawing furnace equipment and complex ion implantation parts for the manufacture of semiconductors.

Thanks to this investment, the turnover of the Korean site could double within 5 years to reach 60 million euros.

Luc Themelin, Chief Executive Officer of Mersen, said: ‘Our new site will enable us to strengthen ourselves considerably in our field of excellence: graphite-based specialty products for the semiconductor markets, whose importance continues to to grow up ‘.
