If the Met Gala had to be canceled in 2020, it will return in September 2021. Better late than never.
Fashion lovers can look forward to the return of the Met Gala. Like the fashion magazine “Vogue” confirmed its role as organizer on Monday (April 12th), the extravagant benefit evening will take place on September 13th this year. Due to the current Corona guidelines, it will be a “slightly smaller celebration” than usual. If New York Fashion Week takes place as planned, it will end appropriately on that date.
The big show of the stars is to take place again as usual next year – on the first Monday in May (May 2, 2022). The galas not only generate a large part of the financial resources of the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) in New York. They also serve as the opening of a two-part exhibition on American fashion this time. In 2020 the Met Gala had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic.
