Meta: Horizon Worlds developers have just added more than a hundred elements to their creation tool

Still in open beta in the USA and Canada, Horizon Worlds allows users to Meta Quest orOculus Rift to create virtual worlds in order to share them with their friends or others. Although the initial proposal is enticing, the impossibility of using assets pre-existing (elements of a game) is the main difficultycontrary to what Epic Games for its engines UnrealEngine. This state of affairs therefore forced users to have to design the elements of their own universes themselves, thus spending more time reinventing the wheel than implementing their ideas.

Horizon Worlds Asset Library

It is now a thing of the past! From now on, it is possible to access, thanks to theAsset Libraryto more than a hundred elements that will allow budding developers to build their prototypes and worlds much easier and faster than ever before.

Currently, this library of elements is essentially composed of 3D objects created by the team of Meta and some community members Horizon. Interestingly, what is more at the pedagogical level, it will be possible to know how each element was designedwhich is a great help for anyone trying to create their own objects.

ifit is still not possible toupload his own models, Meta indicates that it will gradually add new elements, while inviting the community to vote for their favorite creations and to share their ideas. Some have already thought of monetizing their assetsas is the case with most Marketplacebut Meta told them that it is not a supported option currentlywhich may come as a surprise coming from a society judged above all for its commercialism…

And you what do you think ? Does the fact of shaping worlds very simply without knowing how to code create an additional interest for you, or does the non-monetization of the whole thing make you go backwards? Do not hesitate to let us know in comments.

If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you can treat yourself to a Meta Quest 2 at the house of Bakerthe Fnac, Darty Where Amazon for €349.99.
