Meta Quest 2: Polyarc studio, behind Moss, announces an enigmatic competitive multiplayer game with an upcoming beta

Polyarc has not finished making people dream, after delivering the excellent and indispensable Moss And Moss: Book I, here is the studio unveiling a competitive multiplayer title, without however naming it.

At first glance, we are on familiar ground, the graphic touch of the studio obviously recalls the adventures of Quillespecially since once again, it is the rodents that are in the spotlight. The studio remains very enigmatic about its new franchise, but we already know thatit will be a competitive multiplayer battle game with the possibility of choosing your class (or your house).

As the illustration above shows, there will obviously be several categories of champions. The visuals below depict a wizard and the same antagonists as those in the universe of Quillwhich strongly suggests that the word Moss will be part of the title in question.

Here’s what the studio says about its future franchise:

We are pleased to see that the VR audience continues to grow, now numbering in the tens of millions of gamers, with more user-friendly and accessible headsets coming out every year.

As a game development studio that aspires to make games for everyone, we want to find ways to reach more audiences in VR and even create space for new people to join us. With that in mind, more players give us the opportunity to try out the ideas we have for delivering satisfying competitive multiplayer gameplay.

Following the studio’s success in establishing a platforming puzzle genre truly made for VR with the Moss franchise – which includes two of the highest-rated VR games of all time, Moss and Moss: Book II – Polyarc is now diversifying its development portfolio to include a competitive multiplayer game. This project, which has yet to be announced, is something the team has been eager to develop since the studio was founded in 2015, but first it needed to have a large enough player base to support multiplayer games. of this nature.

It’s obvious from watching the gaming community and taking into account some of our own feedback that there are a lot of gamers in VR who are looking and wanting to play more competitive multiplayer games.

We are excited about this opportunity, as VR offers exciting possibilities for multiplayer games. The ability to read the other player’s focus and intent as they move their head and hands is part of what makes in-person games so appealing. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on and how much fun we’ve had playing it.

The game will be open beta on the weekend of April 14, you can register on the following link and, important detail, you will need a Meta Quest 2 (or Meta Quest Pro) to participate.
