Mobile VR is experiencing a second wind with the arrival of a successful license: Assassin’s Creed. If the latest VR episode is technically impressive, it was, like Asgard’s Wrath 2developed above all for Quest 2and of course, optimized for Meta Quest 3. And if we now move on, like on console, from cross to the next-gen ?
If the series of Red Matter (or the game Hubris) had accustomed us to PCVR rendering (whose graphics are calculated on powerful machines) in standalone mode, we will now have to count on the next title of Mighty Eyes to prove to your most skeptical friends that VR is not limited to low poly and to Beat Saber.
THE remaster from Wanderer shows what Meta Quest 3 really has under the hood. For sure, the title risks becoming the next technological showcase of the latest addition to Meta. It is also so graphically beautiful that it has nothing to be ashamed of in the face of trailer from the PSVR 2 versiona console yet light years away from the power of Quest 3.
Cherry on the gift, you will find below the “real” rendering of Wanderer on the first PSVR of the namenot the one that Sony had tried to fool us by taking images of the PCVR version. The result is clear: the Quest 3 mobile version performs better than a PlayStation 4, and it’s as startling as it is promising!
Far from being just a technological showcase, Wanderer was already an excellent title (which we had tested). On the main lines, it involves embodying a single character, but under various identities (Code Quantum style) who will have the ability, thanks to a magic watch, to travel from era to era and from place to place in order to direct the destiny of humanity other than on the path to extinction. Important thing to emphasize, in English at its beginnings, the game has since been translated into French.
THE remaster of Wanderer offers, in addition to facelift graphic, a panel of news features which makes the game more complex:
- Body Awareness (your avatar will have a full body);
- Greater freedom of movement (jumping, climbing, crawling, swimming);
- Improved physics;
- New combat system;
- Larger worlds to visit;
- 3 new destinations.
Despite its qualities, Wanderer did not have the expected success, the studio therefore worked hard to try its luck again on this new generation helmets. One thing is certain, in the editorial office, we will answer the call.
