Meta has announced a major price drop for its Meta Quest virtual or mixed reality headsets. An event a few months after the launch of the Meta Quest Pro and when Mark Zuckerberg seems to doubt his project.

Only a few months after the launch of Meta Quest Pro and the renaming of the entire company from Facebook to Meta, Mark Zuckerberg seems to believe in his project much less. The businessman has, in fact, announced the creation of a new team and resources now dedicated to… artificial intelligence. The dream of a great metaverse orchestrated by the band seems to be slipping away for now.

In the meantime, the firm is announcing a major price drop for its various Meta headsets.

Up to $500 off

It’s not good to be a early adopter of the MetaQuest Pro. The high-end mixed reality headset launched at $1,499.99 at the end of 2022. It will now be offered at $999.99, which is still $500 off.

The Meta Quest 2 is also entitled to a price drop since the 256 GB model goes from $499.99 to $429.99. Note that this is not a promotional period, but new official prices for these two helmets.

This isn’t the first time the Meta Quest 2 has changed prices. In the summer of 2022, the firm announced a price increase for its helmets. She definitely seems to have a hard time deciding on her prices.

When will the price drop in France?

If the price drop is revealed in dollars, it also concerns France, Switzerland and Belgium. The Meta Quest 2 price change takes effect immediately. Since March 5 in fact.

On the other hand, the price drop of the Meta Quest Pro is announced for March 15. We will therefore have to be a little patient.
