THE Meta Quest have found their way into many living rooms, the autonomous virtual reality headsets of Meta are an excellent entry point into the world of VR, but the manufacturer wants to go even further. Today, the firm of Mark Zuckerberg made big announcementsvery promising for fans of virtual and mixed reality.
Meta will associate with ASUS Republic of Gamer, Lenovo And Microsoftallowing them to design helmets VR/AR based on the ecosystem of Meta Quest. The helmetASUS ROG will be focused on the gaming and performancethat of Lenovo more intended “for productivity, learning and entertainment”, while that of Microsoftdesigned in collaboration with Metawill simply be A Meta Quest inspired by Xbox in limited editionpossibly in bundle with a controller and a subscription to Game Pass. Meta And Microsoft had already collaborated on the application Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta)allowing you to play with the controller on a giant virtual screen on Meta Quest.
These headsets will use THE Meta Horizon OSthe operating system of Meta Quest which finally has a name and which will be present in third-party products. This shouldn’t disturb users too much, but there is still another change on the store side. THE Meta Quest Store will rename itself Meta Horizon Store and include basicAppLabwhile the companion application on mobiles will now be called Meta Horizon.
Meta therefore opens up to third-party manufacturers, but it also intends to open its arms more to external stores. If it is possible to enjoy games Xbox via the Game Pass Ultimate or games Steam thanks to Steam Link And Air Link, Meta hope to see the Google Play arrive on his helmets and thus increase the catalog of games available tenfold with these titles for Android.
