Developped by Sanzaru Games (one of the studios bought by Meta), Asgard’s Wrath 2 is the direct sequel to the excellent PCVR action-adventure RPG of 2019which asked the player to hunt down the god Trickster Loki. Now the title is about to arrive for the end of year holidays on Meta Quest 3, Quest 2 & Quest Pro.
The bet of Meta is risky : offer a triple A standalone (60 hours of exploration!) which is good enough and which sells well enough to develop others behind it. However, the previous part was released in PCVR, with high-end graphics, the studio will therefore have to redouble its efforts to succeed in making us forget that we are autonomous and to make us understand that a PCVR version would have been superfluous (below and on the left, the first part, on the right the second):
The game will be available on December 15, 2023 at a price of €59.99 (pre-order possible) and offered for any purchase – before January 27, 2024 – of Meta Quest 3. Surprise, the game will include a mixed reality mode “in which the minions of Loki will appear from anomalies that may emerge from the walls or ceiling of your environment.
