Developers will now have the option to disable the Guardian in mixed reality. Indeed, being able to visualize one’s real environment in MR makes it unnecessary to use virtual barriers, which are supposed to warn us of all collisions. Meta specifies, without naming them, that certain applications will no longer automatically trigger the Guardian.
Why not just disable the limit for all mixed reality apps ?
Because certain applications can offer VR and MR in turn, it is therefore more reassuring to give developers the possibility to deactivate or activate the Guardian depending on the configuration of the software in question. We can bet that they will make the effort to deactivate the Guardian if the game at no point needs it.
If, in certain environments, it was possible to move to places indicated by a blue dot, from now on, you will be free to teleport wherever you want, within the limit set by Meta.
