Meta: surprise, Hand Tracking 2.0 is coming soon to Meta Quest 1!

Remember, the Hand Tracking 2.0 had arrived on Meta Quest 2 last May (see article), bringing improvements to the use of your hands without controllers. Here now is that this same functionality arrives for the first Meta Quest of the namewhich until then seemed totally abandoned by the firm of Zuckerberg.

Hand Tracking 2.0 is an optional upgrade on the developer side, but many apps like Cubism, Unplugged: Air Guitar, and Hand Physics Lab support it. The reason this is an optional update is that some older apps were already using hand tracking quality filtering algorithms, designed by the developers to fix the issues in version 1.0.

In December, hand tracking 2.0 will become the default for all applications where it will not be explicitly disabled. In April 2023, it will become the only hand tracking mode and all applications will use it automatically.

Whatever, owners of Meta Quest 1 will appreciate, although they would probably much prefer to be able to get their hands on the most recent titles (of which they have been deprived for a few months) rather than having a feature that they will only use in rare cases.

If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you can treat yourself to a Oculus Quest 2 to the Fnac, Darty or Amazon for €449.99. You can also find good PCs for gamers there.
