Meta teams up with L’Oréal to propel metaverse and Web3 start-ups to Station F

Meta is laying a new brick to build the metaverse ecosystem in France. After launching an academy with Simplon.co earlier this year, the American group announces the creation of an acceleration program to get start-ups involved in the development of the metaverse and Web3 off the ground. In this context, Meta has partnered with L’Oréal. The HEC Paris Incubator is also involved in this project, as is Station F, which will host the selected companies for six months.

Five start-ups will be selected to take part in the program, which will accompany them from January to June 2023. Meta and L’Oréal wish to support young shoots that cover “a wide range of topics, ranging from 3D production to augmented, virtual or mixed reality technologies, avatar creation and portability, user experience and other Web3 related topics”, say the two companies. By unearthing nuggets from these emerging sectors, Meta hopes to rekindle the icing while its metaverse currently looks more like a real fiasco than the “future of the internet”.
