METEX, leader in industrial fermentation allowing the manufacture of ingredients of natural origin intended for the animal nutrition, cosmetics and biopolymers markets, takes stock of the persistent impacts of the economic and health context on its activity.
The Group’s activity is currently taking place in an environment subject to strong inflationary pressures affecting more particularly the cost of agricultural raw materials and energy against the background of the conflict in Ukraine. Gas supplies to companies, particularly during the 4th quarter of 2022, are therefore likely to be impacted by recent geopolitical decisions. The general increase in costs borne by our feed manufacturing customers and by livestock farmers, as well as the difficulty of passing on this increase to the selling prices of livestock products to the end consumer, are thus weighing on the animal nutrition and the volume of ingredients consumed.
