(CercleFinance.com) – The French laptop manufacturer Metavisio warned on Monday that its sales target for 2022 would not be achieved due to a market context deemed ‘very difficult’.

Even if its 2022 turnover is not yet finalized at this stage, it should register – according to preliminary data – around 30-32 million euros, far from the objective of 70 million which had was communicated to the market last June.

In its press release, the group invokes a “very difficult” 2022 financial year for the entire IT industry, with a general decline in sales all over the world.

According to research firm GFK, the size of the PC market would have contracted by 28% in Europe in 2022.

Metavisio recalls that the IT industry had experienced two exceptional years in 2020 and 2021, mainly due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the massive development of telework.

Knowing that large-scale distribution customers have tended to overstock its products, a large part of the turnover forecast for the 4th quarter of 2022 was declared in the first half of 2023 due to the postponement of orders, he specifies in his statement.

Metavisio nevertheless expects its Ebitda to decline by only 13% to 5.5 million euros in 2022, leading to a significant improvement in its Ebitda margin which would increase from 11% in 2021 to 18% in 2022 .

The company’s net income should also remain positive in 2022.

Following these announcements, the title fell by more than 6% on Monday morning, signing one of the largest declines in a Parisian market up 1.1%.
