Meteorologists warned – floods and mudslides call for fire brigades!

Rain and hail hit parts of Carinthia on Sunday evening. The fire brigades were on duty.

The storm front that swept across Carinthia on Sunday caused several floods. Especially in Lower Carinthia – in Wolfsberg and Völkermarkt, the emergency services had to move out. “We have about 20 operations, basements and streets, fields, garages are flooded,” said the state alarm and warning center. The Lavamünder federal road was relocated in the Wunderstätten area by a mudslide, as was the St. Pauler state road. The storm center even reported a storm warning for Wolfsberg and Völkermarkt. In the late Sunday evening hours the weather calmed down again.
