The latest game in the Metro series, either Metro Exodus, was released in 2019 on most platforms. However, as you probably already know, a new opus is currently in development. Moreover, the studio in charge, 4A Games, recently gave some news, via an article published a short time ago on the official website.
In said publication, 4A Games explains that the story of the next Metro game is influenced by the war in Ukraine :
[…] We have never hidden the fact that the Metro series has always carried a strong anti-war political message. […] And the war in Ukraine made us rethink what kind of story the next Metro game should tell. All themes of Metro – conflict, power, politics, tyranny, repression – are now part of our daily lives […]
These themes will also be an integral part of the next Metro game because 4A Games writes ” […] We bring them into the game with a renewed purpose […] “.
In addition, said development studio took advantage of this article to announce that “Exodus SNK”, allowing you to add or even create mods for the software, is now available, free of charge, on Steam, the Epic Games Store as well as on GOG. However, to use it, it is necessary to have a copy of Metro Exodus or its Enhanced edition.
At this time, the official name of the new Metro title is not known and no images have been shared. As usual, we’ll keep you posted as more details become available.
