As expected, the June 2024 Nintendo Direct was an opportunity to learn a little more about Metroid Prime 4, surely one of the most anticipated games on the Nintendo Switch.
The June 2024 Nintendo Direct brings with it an avalanche of exciting news and announcements for Nintendo Switch fans. In the lot, and for the time that fans have been impatiently awaiting it, we find news on the very (very) anticipated Metroid Prime 4. Which, without a doubt, has not finished making people talk about it. See instead.
Metroid 4 is finally here!
Finally, after years of tumultuous development, Metroid Prime 4 has received a new trailer. In January 2019, Nintendo announced that development on Metroid Prime 4 was restarting entirely under the direction of Retro Studios, the studio responsible for the first three Metroid Prime games. This decision was made due to Nintendo’s lack of satisfaction with the quality of the game in its initial state. Retro Studios then took over the project, likely implying a significant delay in the game’s release date.
Since development restarted, information on Metroid Prime 4 has been scarce. Nintendo confirmed that the game would stay true to the First Person Adventure experience of previous Metroid Prime games, while introducing a new story that would expand the series’ universe.
Ahead of the June 2024 Nintendo Direct, several rumors and speculations circulated regarding the FPS. Fans were hoping to see a release date announcement and more gameplay details. Alas, we will have to make do with a video and a meager “2025”.
