Metroid Prime 4 and Pikmin 4 on the Nintendo Direct program?

Tonight will be the first Nintendo Direct of the year for the Japanese manufacturer. A meeting eagerly awaited by all people who own a Switch and who can’t wait to find out what 2023 has in store for them. That’s good since it will be the Direct program, with a focus on the games to come in the coming months. If we imagine that Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be present, it may well be that other surprises are waiting for you…

Two big licenses?

The first title that we could see again tonight would be Pikmin 4. Game Explorers, a Greek retailer has just updated its product sheet indicating a release date listed as May 26, 2023 while revealing a jacket. An update which could very clearly imply that a presentation will take place this evening, followed by an opening of physical pre-orders.

Last September, Shigeru Miyamoto announced the development of a new game with a confirmed release in 2023. With this period targeted, nothing really surprising to see it during the Nintendo Direct of this February 8. It would even be logical to see it again with the precision of a target release period by the summer period. What is more surprising is this date of May 26, 2023, just two weeks after the release of the next Zelda. We will therefore take this information with a grain of salt, even if we imagine that his presence this evening is highly probable.

But even more surprisingly, it could be Metroid Prime 4 make an appearance during the evening. The American site of Amazon updated its product sheet overnight, no longer leaving the possibility of pre-ordering the game. If it has been possible to reserve its copy for almost 6 years, Amazon has changed the status by displaying ” Temporarily out of stock “ while it was still possible to make a pre-order just last night.

Of course, this could simply be a maneuver that echoes the potential price increase of Nintendo games or a simple update of the product sheet (something that has not been done for several years). But we know that it is relatively rare for such an operation to be harmless. We can therefore cross our fingers, at least to tell us that the development is progressing. let’s remember that Metroid Prime 4 was unveiled in June 2017 before everything was started from scratch in early 2019. Four years later, we can hope for good news.

See you this evening, Wednesday February 8, 2023 at 11 p.m., to follow the Nintendo Direct at the start of the year. We will summarize all the announcements, on our site and on video.
