While the freshly landed MG4 electric compact is enjoying great success, the manufacturer MG plans to drastically change its offer by 2025 before going all-electric in 2027. New affordable electric cars should thus see the light of day.
While the MG EHS SUV has recently benefited from a restyling, the latter is only intended to extend its life for the next 12 months before it is completely replaced. Same thing on the side of the popular MG ZS, which could benefit from a total overhaul and exploit the MSP platform. The MG5 break, for its part, will take up the visual signature of the MG4 and will thus be similar to an MG4 with a break trunk.
Recently unveiled, the MG Cyberster convertible should hit our roads in 2024. This astonishing roadster aims to reconnect with the tradition of the British brand that has made it so successful. With this convertible, MG is offering a sporty and affordable electric alternative that could well appeal to fans of the Alpine A110, Porsche 718 Boxster and other Audi TT Roadsters.
Guy Pigounakis, commercial director of MG, told *Auto Express* that MG was preparing to launch a new version of its famous MG4, more focused on performance. It could give the manufacturer a sportier image, and this MG4 X-Power would have all-wheel drive for a cumulative power of more than 400 horsepower: a cocktail that should prove to be a winner given the fun behavior of the car.
Although it is not available in France, the city car MG3 should also benefit from a restyling by next spring. However, without possible electrification, its life expectancy should be relatively short, before it is definitively supplanted by a potential electric city car.
