Carys Zeta Douglas, the daughter of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, has taken her first big step towards Hollywood.
“It stays in the family” – that’s not just the film title of a comedy from 2003 that brought together three generations of the Douglas acting dynasty (Kirk, Michael and Cameron Douglas) in front of the camera. In general, it seems to be the credo of the famous Hollywood family, whose model couple Michael Douglas (80) and Catherine Zeta-Jones (55) celebrated their birthday together last September 25th and were 135 years old together. Because the two received the biggest gift for his 80th and 55th anniversary with the certainty that their daughter Carys Zeta Douglas (21) has taken her first step towards a Hollywood career.
In fact, the first film with Carys Zeta Douglas in one of the main roles has already been shot, as she revealed herself via Instagram. It is the short film “F*ck That Guy” by newcomer Hanna Gray Organschi, who was responsible for the direction and screenplay. Meanwhile, an old and Oscar-winning hand from the dream factory was so convinced of the project that he was co-responsible for it as executive producer: director Spike Lee (67), known for his socially critical films such as “Do The Right Thing” and “Malcolm X”.
A wide audience will soon have the opportunity to marvel at Carys Zeta Douglas in her first acting role: According to her post, “F*ck That Guy” will be shown at the Proof Film Festival, which will take place from October 18th to 20th in Los Angeles takes place.
Warning from her father
The 21-year-old has had the desire to one day stand in front of the camera herself for several years. Catherine Zeta-Jones had already spoken about her daughter’s acting ambitions in 2021. In the conversation at the time As a guest on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” she also revealed her husband’s words of warning to their child.
So she has to develop a thick skin, especially at the beginning of her career, and be aware of the fact that many people only perceive her as “the daughter of…” and may not take her seriously. And who would know that better than Michael Douglas, who himself needed some time to step out of the oversized shadow of his famous father Kirk “Spartacus” Douglas (1916-2020).
In addition to their son Cameron (45), whom Michael Douglas brought into the marriage, the two also have their 24-year-old son Dylan (24). Whose career desire, how could it be otherwise: Hollywood star.
