Michael Gwisdek: The actor dies at the age of 78

Actor Michael Gwisdek died "after a short, serious illness". His family announced this on Wednesday.

The Berlin actor and director Michael Gwisdek (1942-2020, "Oh Boy") "died after a short, serious illness with his family" on Tuesday (September 22nd), as his relatives announced on Wednesday. It goes on to say that privacy is requested.

The busy artist has starred in films such as "The Silent Classroom" (2018), "Scouts of Peace" (2016), "Miss Sixty" (2014) and "Vaterfreuden" (2014). For his role in "Oh Boy" (2012) he was awarded the German Film Prize for Best Supporting Actor. Gwisdek was seen on television in 2019, among other things, in "Traumschiff: Antigua" and in "Eichwald, MdB".

Michael Gwisdek leaves behind his two sons, musician Johannes Gwisdek (born 1980) and actor Robert Gwisdek (born 1984), as well as his second wife (since 2007), writer Gabriela Gwisdek. From 1984 to 2007 he was married to actress Corinna Harfouch (65), the separation took place in 1999.
