Michael J. Fox’s mother is dead. As he himself announced, Phyllis Fox died two weeks ago at the age of 92.

Hollywood star Michael J. Fox (61) mourns the loss of his mother Phyllis Fox. That’s what the “Back to the Future” actor gave according to People magazine at an event during Comic-Con in New York City. Accordingly, his mother died more than two weeks ago on September 24 at the age of 92.

In an anecdote about his mother, Fox said that in the 1980s she was strongly opposed to her son shooting the film Back to the Future in the evenings and at night while filming the sitcom Family Ties during the day. She was worried about his tiredness.

Michael J. Fox’s mother also worked as an actress

Like his mother, Michael J. Fox is a native of Canada. Born in Winnipeg in 1929, Phyllis is survived by sons Michael and his brother Steve, and daughters Jackie and Kelli. According to an obituary, she had nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. The obituary states, “Nothing made her happier than watching her family grow.” Phyllis Fox, née Piper, worked as a payroll clerk and also as an actress. Her husband William Fox, Michael J. Fox’s father, died in 1990.
