Michael J. Fox has had Parkinson’s disease since 1991. He also had a serious accident three years ago. So is the actor today.

“A really good groove”: Michael J. Fox (60) is physically fine, as he revealed to “People” magazine. The actor, who has had Parkinson’s disease since the early 1990s, had an accident three years ago. “Every day is different,” he says now. The circle of things he can do is getting smaller: “But I’m glad that in the middle of the circle I found things that are not touched, like my family and the time I have with them.”

About his fall three years ago, in which he broke his arm, the actor says: “I felt so sorry at that moment when I was on the floor, like a sack of bones.” The “Back to the Future” star also remembers: “And I thought, ‘Who am I to tell people to be cheerful?” In the end, however, he noticed that he could feel gratitude: “You can be a realist and an optimist at the same time. If I don’t accept it, I won’t get any further.”

The 60-year-old is now celebrating the 20th anniversary of his Michael J. Fox Foundation. Sting (70) and Brad Paisley (48) are said to be performing at a charity event. The foundation has raised over $ 1 billion for Parkinson’s research to date.

The children have moved out

Michael J. Fox and his wife Tracy Pollan (61), with whom he has been married since 1988, have four children: Esmé (19), the twins Aquinnah and Schuyler (26) and Sam (32). All have already moved out. “We sold our house and went to Santa Barbara for a few months,” says the actor. “We’ll go to Malibu later this year and spend time. We don’t have anyone to pick up at school.”

Still, the family is closely connected, says Fox: “My children are great and they use their energies to change things and do better.”
