Michael Jackson: That much money should be due to his heirs

Pop star Michael Jackson died in 2009. Court documents are now supposed to show what his heirs earned after his death.

Michael Jackson (1958-2009, "Earth Song") is still considered the undisputed "King of Pop" around eleven years after his death. On his death, the singer is said to have left $ 500 million in debt. Yet his legacy has grown into a great fortune over the years. From court documents that are available to "The Blast", it should now emerge that Jackson's heirs have meanwhile earned over two billion US dollars (around 1.7 million euros).

For this, the estate administration made "unprecedented deals" and thus rebuilt and improved Michael Jackson's image, the documents say. In the future, too, one will generate "considerable income" in this way. Jackson's fortune grew mainly due to the Sony deal, in which the group had bought Michael Jackson's heirs the share in the music publisher EMI Music Publishing for 287 million dollars (around 250 million euros). Added to this was income from his Mijac music catalog, which includes his compositions since 1979 and many of his classics.

According to the documents, his mother Katherine Jackson (90) and his three children Paris (22), Prince Michael Jr. (23) and Prince Michael Jackson II (18) received financial support through the fortune. This was exactly what Michael Jackson had always intended for his family.
