The death of British TV journalist Dr. Michael Mosley is making waves around the world. The results of the first autopsy are now in.
Last weekend, the missing British TV journalist and BBC presenter Michael Mosley (1957-2024) was found dead on the Greek island of Symi. His wife Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley had already reported him missing on June 5th after he did not return from a hike. An initial autopsy has now shown that the 67-year-old died of natural causes, as reported to the BBC.
Further investigations have been requested
Greek police spokeswoman Konstantia Dimoglidou said no injuries were found on his body. His body was discovered on a rocky shore by a private boat. Lefteris Papakalodoukas, the mayor of Symi island, and Mosley’s widow said he took a wrong route while hiking and fell. Separate toxicology and histology reports have also been requested, according to the BBC.
The presenter, who was the father of four children, was on holiday with his wife on Symi. According to several reports, he left her on the beach last Wednesday to go hiking. His wife reported him missing that evening after Mosley had not returned by 7:30 p.m. A major search operation was then launched, involving police and firefighters, as well as volunteers, specially trained sniffer dogs, divers, a helicopter and a drone. His widow thanked everyone who helped afterwards.

Dr. Michael Mosley was a major figure on British television for around two decades. The presenter and TV doctor was known for productions such as “Trust Me, I’m a Doctor”, “The Truth about Exercise”, “Lose a Stone in 21 Days” and numerous TV appearances.
