Biography of Michael Wendler
Michael Wendler was born as Michael Skowronek on June 22, 1972 in Dinslaken. Before his music career, he completed an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent. Singer and radio presenter Jürgen Renfordt helped him get his first record deal in 1988. Before that, Michael Wendler had no classical music training. Nevertheless, he writes his own lyrics and songs under the pseudonym Mic Skowy.
“King of Schlager Pop”
According to his own statement, he first hums the titles to his producer Herman Niesing, who then sets the songs to music. The self-proclaimed “King of Schlagerpop” has released hits like “She loves the DJ” (2007), “Nina” (2008) and “I Don’t Know” (2009). He received gold status for his albums “Best Of – Volume 1” and “Unbesiegt”.
The Wendler on Reality TV
In addition to his appearances at Ballermann and in large discotheques, Michael Wendler is a busy guest on reality TV. In 2010 he had his own docu-soap “The Wendler Clan”. This was followed by an appearance as a candidate in “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” (2014), leaving the jungle camp voluntarily on day five. He then tried his hand at “Celebrity Big Brother” (2014), “Celebrity Dinner” (2014) and “Let’s Dance” (2016). In a “Christopher Posch Special”, the TV lawyer dealt with the “Wendler File” in 2014. Marriage to Claudia Norberg
Claudia Norberg was the woman at Michael Wendler’s side for 29 years. The two met when they were teenagers. They got married in a civil ceremony on Sylt in 2009 and in a church on Mallorca in 2010. 2020 has been a hot-tempered year for pretty much everyone, and Wendler is no exception. The first highlight was his single “Egal”, which finally made it into the charts after more than two years. He then made headlines when RTL announced the forthcoming wedding to scandal friend Laura Müller; but of course not without TV hustle and bustle. The whole thing was packed in “Laura and Wendler – Now we’re getting married!”, The two finally gave the yes word in Florida. A dream wedding in Vegas was planned in front of the cameras, but then the corona pandemic came. And she didn’t just put the wedding on hold for the time being: Michael Wendler signed a contract with RTL as a future jury member for “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. However, he traveled back to the USA without their knowledge and announced his departure from the show shortly after the start of the season. The reason: rejection of German corona policy and RTL’s views, which according to Wendler all went in the direction of conspiracy theories.
