Michel Chevalet in mourning: his wife Josiane, seriously ill, died

Josiane Chevalet, the wife of science journalist Michel Chevalet died following a long illness. According to France Dimanche, his funeral took place on Thursday July 7, 2022.

Michel Chevalet is in mourning. The 82-year-old science journalist has just lost his wife, Josiane. Le Figaro announced the news on Wednesday, July 6, confirming information from France Sunday. According to the daily, the television producer for young people is died after a long illness.

According to the obituary of Josiane Chevalet, née Capelle, his funeral took place on Thursday July 7. A religious ceremony was organized at 10 a.m. in the parish of Saint-Jean-Baptiste du Plessis-Trévise, in Val-de-Marne. After the ceremony, the burial of Michel Chevalet’s wife took place in the strictest family intimacy. Josiane Chevalet leaves behind her husband, but also her sons Christophe and Fabrice, as well as her grandson Nathan.

Michel Chevalet had mentioned the illness of his wife

In 2019, the creator of Weather First had approached the long illness of his wife, during an interview granted to Entertainment TV. He had described “a serious illness” without going into details. The couple formed by Michel and Josiane Chevalet had already faced a terrible ordealin 2001. Their son Fabrice, aged 32 at the time, had been the victim of a serious road accident and had suffered significant neurological damage.

Faced with the difficulties of life, the presenter of Science Club explained: “I had a wonderful life, but like the others, I took a beating. My son, whom I care for, was left paralyzed and blind after a car accident where he was crushed between two trucks. And my wife is suffering from a serious illness. All that changes you a man! Sometimes I fall apart on my own, but I won’t tell you more about it“. Michel Chevalet must now face the terrible loss of his wife.
