Michel Cymes on the Health Magazine which leaves and returns: “I started to yell…”

The Health Magazine was almost no longer broadcast on the public service, before finally benefiting from an extension. On May 4, Michel Cymes, producer and former host of the France 5 show, received a phone call from the boss of the production company 17 Juin Média, who told him the good news. Yet originally the goal was to cancel all Newen productions on the public service, as reported The Parisianthis Sunday, May 12.

Enough to very anger Michel Cymes, the loyal spectators of this program which dates from 1998 but also the medical profession, who consider that this program is necessary. The TV presenter, who thought he could give life to another meeting revolving around health on the public service, had the rug pulled out from under him after its cancellation. “We had started working on projects,” he lamented. There was also question of the financing of France Télévisions by the State, which was put on the table. Marina Carrère d’Encausse’s sidekick did not fail to get annoyed and let it be known: “I started yelling because it was not possible to be the collateral victim of a problem that does not concern us.”

An agreement between TF1 and the public service?

The host and producer is in any case convinced “that there must have been phone calls, lunches or dinners to put the pieces back together” between the groups of Rodolphe Belmer (on the TF1 side) and Delphine Ernotte (France Télévisions) to finally find an agreement. “It is very unlikely that this was done without discussions between the management. And faced with the emotion of the community, perhaps also modestly our rants, they said to themselves that it was necessary to save The Health Mag“, rejoiced Michel Cymes. As our colleagues indicate, the show should still be recorded and broadcast live for 52 minutes, from Monday to Friday. It will still be on France 5 and from 1:40 p.m. The presenter will be doctor Jimmy Mohamed, who succeeds Marina Carrère d’Encausse, focused on new projects.
