The father of one of Michel Fourniret’s victims confided his anger in the face of French justice.
Roger Parrish is the father of one of Michel Fourniret’s victims. For thirty years, this father waited for French justice to tell him that his daughter’s murderer would finally be judged. Even if the judge opened the possibility that this is the case, Roger Parrish lets go: “But it’s too late now.” And for good reason, only Monique Olivier will be able to answer alone for these crimes. Michel Fourniret died in 2021. “Fourniret will never be condemned for the murder of our daughter and it is the fault of French justice. Justice has long refused to believe us or to believe our lawyer when we asked that the Fourniret track be examined. Then, they took their time when Joanna’s murder could have been judged much earlier. During all these years, we had the feeling of not existing. French justice has often let us down, and it continues today… “
The body of his daughter, Joanna Parrish was found on May 17, 1990 in a river, totally naked. The investigators then make the link with other crimes. “But at the time, the Auxerre prosecutor’s office let the corpses and missing persons pile up”. Another reason for the family’s anger: “DNA taken from Joanna’s body is notably rendered unusable after being stored in poor conditions…”
A Father’s Struggle
