Michel Fugain: this totally improbable place where he was conceived by his parents

Present in the daily program of France 5, C à Vous, this Thursday, April 14, the singer Michel Fugain gave himself up to some confidences with Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine. And in particular on the improbable place of its conception.

It’s no surprise to anyone: Michel Fugain has trouble keeping his tongue in his pocket. And the 79-year-old French singer proved it once again this Thursday, April 14, during the show C à Vous. While leading an intense discussion with the presenter of France Télévisions, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine, Pierre Lescure insisted on returning to his dad, several times mentioned by the interpreter of the tube “A beautiful story”.

“You have mentioned your dad many times. In your native village, 15 kilometers from Grenoble, you were the son of ‘Mickey’. Commander Mickey was the name of your father, very involved in the resistance and medical student. In May 1941, at the age of 22, he was arrested by the Vichy police before being imprisoned. He will succeed in escaping on a certain May 12, 1942. What is May 12, 1942?, then asked the journalist. A question that directly made Michel Fugain react.

Michel Fugain: “I was conceived in prison!”

This is how the famous singer replied: “It’s my date of birth. Which means… I was conceived in prison! I was conceived in a fort called Fort Barreau, which is about fifty kilometers from Grenoble. My father asked for permission for my birth and wanted to take the opportunity to seek his release. He knew that the chief of staff at Grenoble was a poet in his spare time. My dad found one of his poetry books, put it in his pocket and asked for an audience.”

Faced with the great interest of his listeners, Michel Fugain continued his story. “The latter receives it and sees something sticking out of his pocket, with his name. The chief of staff then questions him and my father tells him that he loves poetry and that he had just discovered an extraordinary young poet. He was immediately released.” A superb anecdote that totally hit the mark around the C à Vous table.
