At 75, Michel Sardou is not about to give up his place! Indeed, the man who defends his titles tooth and nail had suggested a few years ago that he would be ready to hang up, an implication which was finally brushed aside. In 2023, the singer plans to return to the French roads for a major tour that he has been preparing for several months with three hours of singing lessons per day. It is alongside his wife, Anne-Marie, in the Deauville region that the interpreter of Connemara Lakes lives a peaceful life during which he pursued a passion for more than ten years, breeding and racing horses.

A decision made in soul and conscience
It’s in the mediaActu.frthat Michel Sardou confides in this passion which will have been a source of disappointment: “I stopped the horses because I was very disappointed. I did breeding, my products did not give what I hoped for and yet I had put in the work! After a while, I got tired of being fourth, fifth… It cost a fortune”. He even adds that he regrets having started breeding: “I told Rouget (his horse trainer), if my last yearlings aren’t good, we’ll give up. And we gave up“.
This lack of continuity in the results of his breeding is not the only reason which pushed the singer to stop, in fact, in June 2022, his friend, Alec Head, died suddenly when it was he who had the responsible for breeding Michel Sardou’s horses in the stud farm which belonged to him in Quesnay: “Now I won’t know where to put my horses. I was at home in Quesnay, I did what I wanted, I came, I came» he explains with great regret.
