It wasn’t that long ago that Michelle Hunziker, 46, did everything she could to maintain her radiant image. There was hardly a photo of her in which she wasn’t laughing, joking or splashing about in the sea. “I’m probably the woman who laughs the most on German and Italian television,” said the presenter in interviews. And was proud to have “the smile in the DNA”.

Michelle, the sunshine! Funny, cheerful, always in a good mood – today this is a façade that the self-proclaimed “cheerful nature” has had enough of. A façade that not only crumbles, but which the mother of three and soon-to-be grandmother tears down with a sledgehammer. And indeed, the presenter, who has been in showbiz for 27 years, has undergone an inner change that has turned her life upside down.

“It was only a year ago that I realized what I really want. And how important it is to be honest with yourself,” said Michelle recently in an interview with her good friend, fashion designer Guido Maria Kretschmer, 57. And continued: “I was fed up with always being the ‘good girl’ and always being there for everyone but myself.”
Through self-reflection to new strength
Honest words that show how much Michelle has judged herself and how clear her answer is. “Now I’m enjoying life, I’ve found my harmony,” she states and feels relieved. She can finally show all the facets that make her a woman in her mid-40s. Shaped by successes & disappointments, failed marriages & love. Yes, she still likes to laugh because she has “an incredible joy in life” and needs laughter “like the air to breathe”. But she is strong and serious at the same time, she can admit that she is afraid of situations in which she is helpless in the face of life. war, death, disease. Her soul also has dark sides
Because her soul is not as blond as her hair, but often dark, hurt by childhood memories of not being loved. She still grapples with the fact that her alcoholic father died when she was 24 without ever showing her how he felt. But: She now accepts being vulnerable and weak, and admits that she longs for tenderness and encouragement.
When a masseuse recently put her hand on her cheek, just like a child, and praised her, she became very emotional. “Because unfortunately no one says that to an adult anymore: Brava, well done, you’re a great mother.” The fact that she doesn’t see her need to be praised as a weakness shows: Michelle is a woman who has got to know herself – and accepts herself as she is. “Today I feel happy. And although a little late, I understood how important it is to love yourself.”
She lacked this quality and stood in the way of her happiness
Self-love – a quality she used to lack: “The 20-year-old Michelle? When I look back, I still feel a lot of tenderness. I was an idealist, wanted to rock the world.” She made many mistakes and was the perfect victim, for example for the “Warriors of Light” sect, which robbed her of a lot of money and self-confidence until 2006. At that time, she belonged to the category of women who had it written on their foreheads that they wanted to be dominated and hurt.
Not their children Sole and Celeste Trussardi, but also the three four-legged friends Lilly, Leone and Odin connect Michelle and Tomaso even after their separation in 2022.

Today, Michelle is sure, it would no longer be possible for others to control her life. “I no longer allow anyone to devalue, denigrate and manipulate me,” she says. And: “I’m not afraid of someone who says I spent too much money on a super sports car, which nobody would say about men.”
An allusion to her pink Porsche 911 Turbo S, which costs a good 200,000 euros, with which she jets through her adopted homes of Milan and Bergamo. And an allusion to the fact that women and men are rarely judged the same way. Is that also a reason for the separation of the still-husband Tomaso Trussardi, 39, father of her two younger daughters?
How is her love life going?
Adjusting to the fashion heir’s conservative, reclusive lifestyle doesn’t sit well with the new Michelle we’re about to get to know. But the relationship between the two is as friendly as that with Eros Ramazzotti, 59, her first husband and Aurora’s father.
