Michelle Obama: Former First Lady Assures She's Fine

After the second episode of her podcast appeared, numerous fans were apparently worried about Michelle Obama.

With the second episode of her Spotify podcast, Michelle Obama (56, "Becoming") apparently unsettled her fans. The wife of Barack Obama (59), the former President of the United States, reached out to Instagram to reassure her followers. "I just wanted to get in touch with all of you because a lot of you contacted me after listening to this week's podcast," writes Obama. "First things first: I'm fine. There is no need to worry about me."

In her podcast, Obama talked about going through "emotional ups and downs" at the moment. In addition to the corona pandemic, they were particularly hard hit by the "ongoing racist unrest" in the United States. You are dealing with a "mild depression".

She thinks of teachers, students, doctors, and nurses

Obama goes on to say that she thinks "of the people out there who are risking their lives for the rest of us," as she said in her podcast. The former first lady speaks of doctors, nurses and systemically relevant professions of all kinds, among other things. She also thinks of teachers, students and parents who pondered how things should go with school. And she thinks "of all the people out there who organize and protest for a little more justice in our country".

It just doesn't feel "real" to them that everyone should feel okay right now with everything that happens. "So I hope that you all allow yourself to feel whatever you are feeling." She hopes that everyone will listen to themselves and reflect for a moment about what is in store for the USA and what one can do about it oneself. Obama thanked again for the many messages and hopes that people will take care of family and friends equally. "Don't be afraid to offer them a shoulder to lean on or ask for it yourself."
