2024 is supposed to be the year in which pop singer Michelle, 52, will officially give up her career. In “Bild” she said in 2023: “I swam through a shark tank for thirty years, mostly without a lifebuoy. Now I’ve reached a point where I don’t have the strength to continue.” In the “Kölner Treff” she now talks about her decision again and makes a harsh judgment about the hit industry.

Your private happiness comes first

The singer is happy in her life. The decision against the stage may have been easier because she is doing so well in her private life. At her side is the singer and trumpeter Eric Philippi, 27, with whom she is now very openly enjoying her happiness in love. She doesn’t seem to care about critics and nasty comments. In the WDR program “Kölner Treff” she even becomes very explicit and explains: “[…] I don’t care.” Of course everyone is allowed to form an opinion, but she doesn’t really care what others do, think and say. A great attitude that certainly allows her to have ease in the relationship.

How deep her love actually goes for the singer becomes very clear in the interview. “I hugged him and had the feeling I’ve never had in my life. That I said in my head: ‘Hey, you a**, I have the feeling I’m exactly 52 or 51 years old now waited, and we promised each other in our last lives that we would see each other here again,'” the singer explains with slight tears in her eyes. This will make her words lose additional power and make it clear how content she really is.

Singer Michelle has had enough of hits

“Why now?” asks Susan Link, 47, host of the show. “In the end, life is about having to close certain doors in order to do what your heart tells you,” answers the musician, finding very thoughtful and thoughtful words about why she decided to write this chapter close.

She explains in an interview that her career no longer makes her happy. “I think I’m at this point now where I want to say: This is my last album,” she clarifies and now wants to concentrate more on the things that really make her happy. Everything had become too superficial for her, which is why she now had to listen to herself above all else. There are harsh words that she has to say about the industry to which she owes her career. But she quickly got rid of her initial “rose-colored glasses,” as she calls them, because not everyone seems to have a benevolent attitude towards others. Nevertheless: there will still be a tour and an album.

She is forever grateful to her fans

In addition to all the stress on stage and especially in the industry, she is particularly grateful to some people: her fans. In the WDR broadcast she said: “I believe that the audience we have on stage gives so much love back.” She also always received a lot of love and made other people happy. “In what job can you do that?” she asks.
