Michelle Williams: Actress narrates the Britney Spears audiobook

Pop meets Hollywood: Britney Spears’ (41) memoirs entitled “The Woman In Me” will be on store shelves from October 24th. The audio book version is not intended to be read by her, but fans will hear the voice of a film star. Like, among other things the industry magazine “Variety” reportsMichelle Williams (43) was hired.

Williams, known among other things from major productions such as Steven Spielberg’s (76) “The Fabelmans” or Martin Scorsese’s (80) “Shutter Island”, will read the book. Spears is said to have recorded an introduction for the audio book for “The Woman In Me”. It is scheduled to be published on the same day as the printed version.

Williams is said not to have been the first choice

Spears’ memoir is published by Gallery Books. Penguin Verlag will also be bringing a German version to stores on October 24th. “The Woman In Me: My Story” is “a courageous and deeply moving story of freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope,” says the book’s description. The singer demonstrates “remarkable openness and humor”.

However, Williams is said to not have been at the top of the wish list. Recently had the US celebrity portal “TMZ” reportsthat sources close to the US publisher stated that they wanted to hire Reese Witherspoon (47) for the audio book. According to the report, unfortunately she didn’t have time for it. The work on the audio book should therefore already be completed.

“Britney’s compelling testimony in court shocked the world, changed laws, and demonstrated her inspiring strength and courage. I have no doubt that her memoir will have a similar impact,” said Jennifer Bergstrom, senior vice president and publisher of Gallery Books, People magazine in July. “We couldn’t be prouder to finally help her tell her story.” After a series of scandals, Britney’s father Jamie Spears (71) took over guardianship of his daughter in 2008. It wasn’t until 2021 that a court ended this.
